1) Henrique's article



    Augé, Marc. Non-places: Introduction to an Anthropology of Supermodernity. Trans. John Howe. New York: Verso, 1995.


In this article, Augé describes how the increasingly ubiquitous usage of fast means of transportation and communication in the industrialized world, have altered people’s perception of space and time in an environment that is under constant “accelerated transformation”. Augé argues that such environment gives rise to a new type of anthropology: the anthropology of supermodernity, and to the creation of non-places – that is – places which are devoid of any identity, stability, or history.


2) Tiger's article



    Goulding, Anne.  “Information Poverty or Overload”.  Journal of Librarianship and Information Science (33), 2001, p 109-111. http://lis.sagepub.com/cgi/reprint/33/3/109


Goulding presents the dichotomy that exists when analyzing the assimilation, and gathering of information.  She essentially presents a rather subtle but meaningful hypothesis; can there be too much information?  The analysis presented explores the idea that the focus on information access is usually predicated by the idea that countries or bodies that have large resources and are more developed are able to access volumes of information and have the capacity to impart this information to their citizens, who can then make informed decisions and which will increase efficiency within governance structures and other governmental bodies.


3) Vikaram's Article  


Tyner, K. Literacy in the Digital World, Retrieved Mar, 19, 2007





In this paper Tyner talks about teaching and learning in the digital age.  In her paper she touches on the fact that digital literacy at home is not the same type practiced at school.  In her paper she states that the new abundance of information has made people confused or disoriented and asking many questions.  She states that there are multi literacies in society and that these mulit literacies must be combined into one single multi literacy.
